WTF..Moment of the Week Ch. 2
By Gil Kaufman
Rapper and former Fugees producer John Forté was one of 14 people pardoned by President Bush on Monday, according to Reuters. He had been serving a sentence of 14 years in prison since 2001, after being found guilty of possession of 31 pounds of liquid cocaine with intent to distribute.
Id like to be the first to say WTF... John Forte? I guess Kanye was wrong... Bush cares about at least one black person. Forte was featured on a track called "Been There Done That" with '70s legend Carly Simon which lead to an eventual friendship with the singers son Ben Taylor. Taylor and Simon have been long time advocates of the MC arguing that his sentence was unfair considering this was his first offense and he was a non violent offender. The pair have been vigorously lobbying on Forte's behalf to senators such as Ted Kennedy and Orin Hatch. Well, their efforts have paid off and the rapper is scheduled to be released next month...So in the words of Wyclef John, " John Forte Grab the Microphone and Swing this Way"

Can You Spare Some CHANGE?

This Just in, producer Scott Storch's Miami home has been listed on Craigslist in a forced bank sale. His 22,205 square foot mansion recently appraised at $16 million is now listed at $9 million in an attempt for the bank to recoup at least some of it's money. However this is not the Hip Hop producers first encounter with money woes. Earlier this month it was reported that the former mogul's $20 million dollar yacht was sold on eBay for a mere $600,0000.
Hip Hop, let this be a lesson to you. In these uncertain financial times, it seems inevitable that the Hip Hop community will be forced to reevaluate its prior fiscal irresponsibility. Gone are the days of Bentley, Bitches, and Bling that have previously inundated our lyrics and video's, for Hip Hop's love of the "Finer Things" in life may ultimately lead to its downfall. For Instance, Bill Gates is currently one of the richest men on the planet, and you know how many Rolls Royce Phantoms or Bugatti Veyrons he owns.....None. He is smart enough to invest his money in things that appreciate rather than depreciate in value. A lesson a lot of our Urban stars have yet to learn. So this is for you, the Floyd "Money" Mayweathers of the world, Stop Making it RAIN in the club and use your money more responsibly. Like maybe starting a scholarship fund to help put someones child through college...yes?...no?...maybe?... OK, just think about it.

WTF..Moment of the Week
In Columbia, Sc a Roman Catholic Priest named Rev. Jay Scott Newman, has told his parishioners that if they voted for Barack Obama they should not take Holy Communion. Stating his reason as being the President Elect support of abortion, and that supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with evil." Adding further that ‘‘Our nation has chosen for its chief executive the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president,’’. Why is it that every time racist people in this country try to oppress black folks they use the Bible as a weapon or shackles to keep us imprisoned and subservient?... Baby Jesus Would not approve. Honkie Please...
Negro Please...
Then came Soulja Boy Tell Em. I asked him, “What historical figure do you most hate?” He was stumped. I said, “Others have said Hitler, bin Laden, the slave masters…” He said, “Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we’d still be in Africa.”
My jaw, at this point, was on the ground.”We wouldn’t be here,” he continued, having no idea how far in it he’d stepped, “to get this ice and tattoos.” The Daily Beast

Dont Ask...Do Tell?

By Brian White, AP
With the way that black people have traditionally felt about the issue of homosexuality, largely inline with religious beliefs, how will President Elect Obama deal with this very touchy topic.
Being apart of the Military myself, I personally have no problem serving next to anyone from any religious, ethnic or sexual background(what someone does behind closed doors is their business). But sadly most of my "Brothers in Arms" do not agree, so it will be interesting to see how this potential media storm plays out....Stay Tuned
What do you think?

Just Stop!!!!
With All the advancements that black people have made over the last few decades...these "gentlemen" threaten to undo the work of positive black Americans such as,Martin Luther King Jr., the NAACP and Barack Obama, by displaying their brand of Niggatry on nationwide television for all to see....Damn you Real and Chance...The Negro Community Frowns on Your Shenanigans
"Change" Are You Ready

For Your Consideration:
"I want young men and young women who are alive today to know and see that these new privileges and opportunities did not come without somebody suffering and sacrificing for them."
Dr. Martin Luther King-1964
"Whateva Nigga."

I am excited about the future of this country, but we as a nation and as a people cannot expect CHANGE to come automatically. Change must be facilitated by those who wish to make a difference. It must be carried in the hearts and minds, and on the backs of those who are willing to Work to make CHANGE more than just and idea or a slogan on a T-Shirt, but reality.
Are You Ready?
